Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the arrears accrued out of exgratia payment payable to the mother of the petitioner as per the orders in BP(FB) No.15, dated 18.02.2006, by the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and to pass any further order.

The petitioner has sought a Mandamus directing the respondents to pay arrears of the ex-gratia awarded to his father, who was an employee with the respondent Corporation and who had superannuated on 31.03.1984.
2. The petitioner's father had passed away on 01.03.2012 and the claim was initially pursued by his mother, who was also passed away in the year 2016.
3. Mr.T.Sakthi Kumaran, learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents states that the claim is under progress and that five documents have been sought for by the authorities from the petitioner to enable disbursal of the claim. A direction is issued to R2 to process the claim and disburse the arrears of the ex-gratia, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the documents under communication dated 09.09.2021.
