ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to allow the petitioner to run his cable TV under the License No.TN/2025/448609844 till the expiry period.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he was issued with the license for running cable TV in the petition mentioned locality. The said license is valid up to 31.01.2030. Even before expiry of the license period, the second respondent has granted license to the fourth respondent to run cable TV in the same locality, as a result of which, the petitioner is unable to carry out the cable TV operations. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that the fourth respondent was issued with the license even in November-2024, which is much prior to the petitioner's license dated 01.02.2025.

5. Considering the fact that the fourth respondent has been allotted license even in November, 2024 much prior to the petitioner's license, the relief claimed in the writ petition insofar as it relates to monopoly, cannot be granted. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 28.10.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Rmk 3/5
