ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to pay a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs only) to the petitioner that was sanctioned by the proceeding in Thi5/578/2024, dated 09.03.2024, within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard both sides. By consent, this writ petition has been taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that there was heavy flood in the petitioner's village during Dec-2023, in which, number of houses were damaged. For the purpose of rehabilitate the affected persons, the Government decided to provide monetary assistance to reconstruct their damaged and demolished houses. The petitioner, who is one among the Page No.2/4
affected persons, was selected after detailed inspection as a beneficiary to put up reconstruction of his house. By proceeding dated 09.03.2024 in Thi5/578/2024, the third respondent has issued work order, based on the same, the petitioner commenced the construction and completed the basement work. As per the scheme, the Government will provide a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs only) to a beneficiary at three stages. The first instalment was supposed to be paid on completion of basement work. But, the same was not disbursed to the petitioner even after completion of basement work. Hence, the petitioner has given representation to respondents on 09.03.2024, however, no order has been passed. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, would submit that due to the objection raised by one Natarajan stating that he is the owner of the subject property. Based on the same, enquiry has been conducted and it reveals that the petitioner is the owner of the property. Hence, as per the work order of the third respondent, dated 09.03.2024, the amount will be disbursed to the petitioner within a period of six weeks.
