PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents No.1 to 4 to provide adequate Police Protection for peacefully conducting the Annual Temple Festival on 10.08.2025 in respect of Anthoniyar Kovil Church situated at Seeralur Village, Sakkarasamantham Post, Thanjavur Talukk, Thanjavur District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 04.08.2025. Seeking permission and police protection for conducting Annual Temple Festival in Anthoniyar Kovil Church, Seeralur Village, Sakkarasamantham Post, Thanjavur Talukk, Thanjavur District, the petitioner has approached this Court. 2.Mr.F. Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the fourth respondent submits that the festival in Anthoniyar Kovil 2/5

Church, Seeralur Village has already been completed on 10.08.2025 itself.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner and his group have not participated in the temple festival and therefore, they have to be permitted to conduct the festival separately.

4.It is not a fun that for each family a separate festival has to be conducted in the Church. If this petitioner has not participated in the Church festival this year, let him and his parties participate in the next year festival. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
