ORDER

By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. The writ petition has been filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to refix the seniority of the petitioner's application from 02.12.2023 to 29.07.2024 and the provide Free Agriculture Electricity Connection to the petitioner's property comprised in S. No.1056/2B of situated at Thimmarasanayakkanur Village, Andipatti, Theni by considering petitioners application No. Reg. No.Se.Po.Pe. No. 081/2004-2005 dated 29.07.2004 within the time stipulated by this Court.

3. The petitioner has applied for free electricity service connection in the year 2004. However the same has not been considered and hence, 2/5

the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that there is some mistake occurred in the office of the respondents. In fact the petitioner has submitted an application in the year 2004 itself, however, in the year 2021, instead of effecting service connection to the petitioner, the petitioner's application has been used for some third party and connection has been given to them in the year 2021 and now, the authorities have realized their mistake and they decided to accept the application and decided to give connection and the petitioner's application would be treated as application No.1. The said statement is recorded.

5. In view of the above, since the mistake has occurred on the side of the authorities and the petitioner has given a fresh application seeking connection, the respondents are directed to provide electricity service connection by treating the petitioner's application at Sl.No.1. 3/5

6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
