ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's trust to do renovation works in Sri Brahmakarthi Theertha Iyer and Sri Karuppanaswamy Temple comprised in S.No.57/1 situated at Viraganoor Village, Madurai South Taluk, Madurai District from 07.10.2022 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.10.2022.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is the trustee of the Sri Brahmakarthi Theertha Iyer and Sri Karuppanaswamy Temple comprised in S.No.57/1 situated at Viraganoor Village, Madurai South Taluk, Madurai District. The said temple is 150 years old temple. There are 1000 families, who called as Pangalis are part of the above said temple and the temple is having lot of immovable properties. Considering the dilapidated condition of the temple, the Pangalis of the temple, unanimously, decided to renovate the temple. But, the same was stalled by some of the private individuals. Thereby, the petitioner's trust made a complaint before the respondents on 02.10.2022 to provide adequate police protection to make renovation works in the said temple. But, the same was not considered. Hence, the petitioner filed this petition with the 2/5
above said prayer. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.10.2022 within a time stipulated by this Court.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State would submit that the investigation is pending on the petitioner's representation, dated 02.10.2022 and the same will be considered in the manner known to law. 4.Accordingly, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 02.10.2022 and pass appropriate order within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing an opportunity to the aggrieved persons if any. 5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
