PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.2 of 2022 on the file of the Inspector of Police, NIB-CID, Nagapattinam District.

ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioners/A3 & A4, who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 11.09.2021 for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b) (ii) (c), 29(1) and 25 of NDPS Act, 1985, in Cirme No.2 of 2022, on the file of the second respondent police, seek bail.

2. It is not in dispute that this is the third petition filed by the petitioners seeking bail.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that it would be suffice if the trial Court is directed to dispose of the case within a time stipulated by this Court.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the trial has already been commenced and that seven witnesses were already examined and the case stands posted for cross-examination of PW.7, on 06.02.2023 i.e., today.

5. Considering the above and also the fact that the petitioners are in judicial custody from 11.09.2021 and the trial is at partheard stage, the trial Court is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
