Bearing No.1328 (General) M.V.-1, Department issued by the first respondent within a time frame as stipulated by this Court and also to regularize the petitioners service in the said post from the date of issuance of the above said G.O. and further permit them to continue their residence at Door Nos.OP 40, OP 21/3, Government Refugee Camp, Mandapam, Ramanathapuram District forthwith. C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners are refugees from Ceylon who have been allotted quarters in the Mandapam Refugee Camp and are residing therein from 2006 onwards. They claim to have been temporarily appointment as helpers to electricians on daily wages.
2. The prayers in these writ petitions are for a Mandamus directing the respondents, Government of Tamil Nadu/R1, District Collector, Ramanathapuram/R2 and Special Sub-Collector/R3 to disburse arrears of salary in the post of helper to electrician from 25.11.2013, in terms of G.O.Ms.No.1328 (General) M.V-1, Department, dated 25.11.2013 issued by the State. They also seek a direction to be permitted to continue in residence in their present quarters.
3. No counter has been filed by the respondent herein. Thus, this Court is unable to look into or verify the veracity or otherwise of the various factual aspects that have been put forth by the petitioner in the writ petition. That apart, prayers being for mandamus simpliciter, it would be appropriate for the petitioners to put forth their claims to the concerned Authorities and for the authorities to take a considered view in the matter after looking into representation of the petitioners.
