Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the third respondent dated Nil and quash the same as illegal and consequently, direct the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct the Sri Mahamayi Drama and Valli Thirumanam Drama on 13.12.2021 and 14.12.2021 at about 10.00 pm to 06.00 am in pursuant to the Village Temple Festival of Arulmigu Sri Veerakali Amman Temple situated at Saruguvalayapatti, Melur Taluk, Madurai District. ORDER

The petitioner wants this Court to direct the fourth respondent to permit him to conduct the petition mentioned event. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.21821 of 2021 2.The petitioner asserts that there is no communal angle. The fourth respondent is therefore directed to grant permission to the petitioner to hold the petition mentioned event. It is open to the fourth respondent to incorporate appropriate conditions for ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. The petitioner through his counsel gives an undertaking that the organizers of the event will adhere to the police directives.

3. Recording the said undertaking, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
