under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and pass an order restraining the respondents 3 and 4 from interfering the peaceful possession and enjoyment of the petitioner. For Petitioner :

The present writ petition has been filed by a senior citizen challenging the order passed by the Original Authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
2. A perusal of the order impugned in the writ petition reveals that the second respondent has rejected the request of the petitioner for cancellation of the settlement deed.
3. Section 11 of the said Act provides for an appellate remedy to a senior citizen. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition in view of the availability of an effective alternative remedy. 2/4
4. With the above observations, this writ petition stands disposed of, with liberty to the petitioner to approach the first respondent by way of filing a statutory appeal. If such appeal is presented on or before 09.03.2026, the same shall be entertained without reference to the period of limitation. There shall be no order as to costs.
