[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Prayer in the Writ Petition reads as follows:- ''To issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to grant permission to conduct Vadamadu Manju Virattu at Kallampatti

Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District on 21.09.2024 at about 07.00 a.m. to 02.00 p.m. and further direct the respondents 6 and 7 to grant adequate Police protection for the event, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.09.2024, within the time limit stipulated by this Court.''

2. Evidently, the prayer of the petitioner runs counter to the terms of G.O.(Ms)No.7, Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries (AH3) Department, dated 21.01.2017 and Section 2(dd) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. Hence, the prayer cannot be granted. The Writ Petition fails and it is accordingly dismissed. No costs.
