O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus to consider the representation of the petitioner for being appointed under the compassionate appointment quota, due to the death of his wife Smt. G.Ambrosia.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the petitioner's wife, namely, G.Ambrosia, who was working as an Assistant Professor of History in Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College for Women (Autonomous) had passed away on 18.02.2018, leaving behind himself and two minor sons. The petitioner has given an application for compassionate appointment on 21.03.2018, to the second respondent herein. The second respondent has forwarded the proposal to the first respondent for consideration. Since the first respondent has not yet passed an order, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2/4

Considering the above said facts, the first respondent herein is directed to consider the proposal forwarded by the second respondent to the first respondent on 14.03.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
