ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 528 of BNSS, seeking orders, to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vedasandhur to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.24 of 2019 within the period that may be fixed by this Court.
2. It is not in dispute that on the basis of the complaint given by the second respondent, FIR came to be registered in Crime No.16 of 2017 for the alleged offence under Sections 498(A), 406 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and the first respondent, after completing the investigation, has laid the final report and the case was taken on file in C.C.No.24 of 2019 and the same is pending on the file of the Court of the Judicial Magistrate, vedasandhur.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the case is pending from 2019 onwards, no single witness came to be examined and is being adjourned again and again. 2/4
4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the case stands posted to 18.10.2024 for examination of L.W.1.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the calender case is pending from 2019, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vedasanthur, is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case within a period of five months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
