O R D E R This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent Police for expeditious completion of investigation in Crime No.42 of 2022 dated 07.09.2022 and to file a final report.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that on the complaint given by the petitioner/defacto complainant, the Police have registered a case in Crime No.42 of 2022 on 07.09.2022 for the offence punishable under Sections 341, 294(b), 323 and 506(2) IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. The investigation is still pending and thereby, he sought for suitable directions.

3. The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents, on the other hand, submits that the police have examined six witnesses so far and the investigation is in progress. He requests short time to complete the investigation and file the final report.

Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the respondent Police to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
