ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.ARUL MURUGAN, J.) The writ petition is filed seeking for a direction as against the respondents 1 to 5 to remove the encroachment (unauthorised construction) made by the 6th and 7th respondents in the subject property.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, would submit that the Highways Department 2/5

by proceedings dated 14.08.2025 had communicated to the Tahsildar, Kovilpatti, the third respondent seeking to conduct a survey of the property to find out the encroachments in order to take suitable actions to remove the encroachment. The Divisional Engineer had also by proceedings dated 18.08.2025 intimated the same about the steps taken by them.

3. In view of the steps already been initiated by the Highways Department coordinating with the Revenue Tahsildar seeking in respect of conducting a survey and identifying the encroachment, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the authorities to proceed with in conducting the survey and take suitable actions in accordance with law in respect of removing the encroachments within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. (S.M.S., J.) & (G.A.M., J.) 19.08.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No am 3/5
