O R D E R
The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to cancel the patta stands in the name of fourth respondent and restoration of patta in his name in respect of the property in S.NO.24/12A1A with an extent of 1 acre 66 cents situated at Thumbakulam Pudur Village, Kallikudi Taluk, Madurai District by considering the Petitioner's representation, dated 16.5.2025 2.Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3.According to the petitioner, the subject property is his ancestral property and patta for the same was wrongly issued in the name of fourth respondent. Hence the Petitioner submitted a representation before the third respondent on 16.5.2025 seeking cancellation of patta in the name of fourth respondent. The same 2/5
has not been considered till date. Hence the Petitioner has come before this Court with the present Writ Petition for the relief stated supra.
4.Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the application submitted by the Petitioner will be considered in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. 5.The acknowledgment issued to the Petitioner by the third respondent would indicate that the Petitioner seeks cancellation of UDR patta.
6.Therefore the third respondent is directed to forward the application to the second respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of his order. On receipt of the aforesaid application, the second respondent is directed to consider the same and pass final orders on its own merits after issuing notice to the Petitioner and fourth respondent within a period of 12 weeks from the date of a copy of this order. 7.With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
