ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking early disposal of C.C. No.21 of 2024 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thanjavur, in which the petitioner is the defacto complainant.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the said case is now posted on 23.09.2025 for framing of charges. It is further submitted that several older cases are also pending before the very same Court for trial and therefore, no direction can be issued for early disposal of the petitioner's case alone.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner, however, contended that the petitioner is an old lady aged about 83 years and therefore, her case deserves special consideration.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances, this Court finds justification in the request made on behalf of the petitioner. Accordingly, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thanjavur, is directed to conduct the trial in C.C. No. 21 of 2024 as expeditiously as possible and in any event, not later than one year from today.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
