ORDER
The petitioner is the sole accused in Crime No.4 of 2025 on the file of the respondent Police, registered for the offence under Section 7(A) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. He has moved this petition to quash the FIR in Crime No.4 of 2025 pending against him.
2. When this petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the investigation has already been completed, however, final report has not been filed for want of sanction from the Revenue Divisional Officer. According to the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Revenue Divisional Officer has provided sanction as required under statute and now, the final report has also been filed before the Principal District Court, Madurai, on 16.03.2026.
3. Since it is reported that the final report has been filed in Crime No.4 of 2025, without ascertaining the materials relied on by the investigating agency in the final report, this Court is not inclined to 2/4
proceed with the available FIR. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report, if he is having any ground. Mere filing of the final report through e-filing is not sufficient. The respondent Police shall ensure that the final report is taken on file within a reasonable time. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
