O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that on 26.10.2017, the petitioner has applied for passport along with all relevant documents to the first respondent and his file Number is MD1060658406917. But, the first respondent has not issued the passport to the petitioner. While the petitioner enquired about the same, the first respondent stated that a case in Crime No.162 of 2017 is pending against the petitioner with the second respondent police. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the first respondent several times to issue passport to him. Despite that, the first 2/5

respondent has not issued the passport. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

Ms.B.Deepa, learned Central Government Standing counsel appearing for the first respondent would submit that on 16.08.2019 itself she received a communication from the Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs, Passport Office, Bharathi Ula Veethi, Race Course Road, Madurai, that based on receipt of the clear police verification report to his passport application submitted on 02.04.2019, the application was processed and passport bearing No.T2159646, dated 14.08.2019 was despatched to the applicant on 16.08.2019 by speed post to the present address declared by the applicant in his passport application.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner has not disputed the said fact.

5. In view of the above, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructus. No costs.
