Respondents PRAYER:This petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.08.2019 and consequently, direct the respondent herein to take necessary steps to appoint a Town Planning Officers at Town Panchayats in Tamilnadu for granting building license within a stipulated time. W.P.(MD).No.22169 of 2019 2.By consent on either side, this writ petition is taken up for disposal.

3.This writ petition has been filed designed as Public Interest Litigation, seeking for a direction upon the authorities for appointment of a Town Planning Officers at Town Panchayats in Tamil Nadu.

4.Admittedly, the recruitment to the said post has to be done by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and any process of recruitment will definitely take time. Apart from other delay, which may be caused in the process, due to litigation filed by the aspirants to the post, we cannot issue any positive direction to the respondents, except to observe that if there are vacancies in the post of Town Planning Officers, every steps shall be taken by the Government to fill-up the vacancies within the shortest possible time.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
