Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.11.2022 to 30.05.2023, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of leave within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent transport corporation, seeking interest for the belated disbursement of the terminal benefits.

2.The petitioner herein has retired from service on 31.10.2022 and his terminal benefits were released only on 30.05.2023. Seeking interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation on 15.07.2024. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay 6% interest from the due date till the date of realisation within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
