ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired Conductor of the respondent transport corporation, seeking a mandamus to disburse his surrender leave salary for a period 68 days along with interest at the rate of 18%. 2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, at the time of his retirement service, the surrender leave was not permitted to be encashed by the respondent transport corporation, due to paucity of funds. The petitioner has sent a representation on 12.07.2024, seeking to release the surrender leave.

3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to confer the eligible surrender leave encashment to the writ petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In case, if the amount is not released within a period of twelve weeks, the respondent transport corporation shall pay interest at the rate of 6% till the date of realisation.

4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
