PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to conduct the enquiry by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.05.2023.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to conduct enquiry based on the representation made by the petitioner on 25.05.2023, wherein, the petitioner has made serious allegations against the 4th respondent to the effect that the 4th respondent has cheated many students and receiving huge amounts of money in the guise of running a study centre.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate submitted that the 3rd respondent enquired the complaint given by the petitioner and it came to light that the amount involved in this 2/5

case is more than Rs.9 crores. Therefore, the file was forwarded to EOWII, Chennai and it is pending.

3. In the light of the above submission, the Inspector of Police, EOW-II, Chennai is suo motu added as the 5th respondent in this writ petition. There shall be a direction to the impleaded 5th respondent to act upon the file that has already been forwarded by the 3rd respondent. If the complaint makes out a cognizable offence and it is found that a large body of persons have been cheated, an FIR shall be registered and investigation shall be proceeded further in accordance with law.

4. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
