ORDER

The Petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to direct the Respondents herein to give permission and protection for Arul Migu Sri Irulappa Samy Temple, Purdasi Festival in Naloor Village, Tirchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District and Sathya Arichandira Nadakam on 15.10.2022 Saturday between 7 pm to 2 am. 2.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) takes notice for the Respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal. 3.Heard the learned Counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the Respondents. 4.The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner would submit that they are going to invite rain God to bring rain to the Village. 2/5

5.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the Respondents, would submit on 04.10.2022 there was a dispute in the village between two groups regarding some festival. Peace Committee meeting was convened and in the peace committee meeting amicable settlement not arrived. In the light of the vitiated atmosphere, the Petitioner had sought permission to conduct propitiating rain God.

6. The learned Counsel for the Petitioner by way of rejoinder submitted that there is no objection from any one in the village regarding propitiating rain God seeking rain for the development of the village.

When this Court was about to pronounce orders, the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) would submit that there are some people belonging to Devendrakula Vellalar and they are left and they should be invited. For which the learned Counsel for the Petitioner submitted that those who are in the village believing the rituals can participate in the program for development of the village.

8. In the light of the above, the Respondents are directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation given the Petitioner. Further the Respondents are well within their power to stop the program if they are not cooperating in the light of any law and order issue.
