Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner as against the award passed by the 2nd respondent in award No.02/2017 dated 27.09.2017 in Roc.No.J3/77/2016 within a stipulated time.

ORDER

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

2.Against the award passed by the District Revenue Officer in a land acquisition proceeding on 27.09.2017, the petitioner has https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.22278 of 2019 preferred an appeal to the first respondent on 26.03.2019. The said appeal is pending without getting disposal. Hence, the petitioner sought for information under the Right to Information Act, wherein, it was informed by the office of the first respondent that the appeal will be disposed of as and when they receive report of the Special District Revenue Officer. Aggrieved over the long pendency, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.Considering the factual circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, a direction is given to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 26.03.2019, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
