Retirement/Terminal benefits, Gratuity, Appointment on compassionate etc, within a time limit to be fixed by this Court. O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 to 7 to implement the orders in G.O.Ms.No.86 (12.03.2001), G.O.(D) No.289 (28.09.2007) and various orders/circulars issued by the second respondent between 2008 and 2022. Further, the petitioners seek regularization of their services from 12.03.2001, grant of time scale pay, pay 3/8
fixation, DA, HRA from 01.08.2008, increments, selection grade, promotion, leave benefits including encashment, disbursement of monetary benefits and other related benefits such as retirement benefits, gratuity, and compassionate appointments, within a time frame fixed by this Court. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were appointed as Clerks, Salesmen, and Packers in Fair Price Shops operated by various Fishermen Cooperative Societies in Kanniyakumari District. Their grievance is that their services have not been regularized. Consequently, they submitted a representation dated 15.12.2024, requesting regularization of their services along with all entitled monetary benefits. As no action was taken on the representation, the petitioners have filed the present writ petition before this Court.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the fifth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Considering the above facts and circumstances, without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the fifth respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 15.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the fifth respondent to consider the same on its own merits.
