ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- as compensation to the petitioner under the principle of strict liability for the death of the petitioner's husband by electrocution, alleged to have been caused due to the negligence of the respondents.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 2 and 3 submitted that the respondents have agreed to pay a sum of Rs.7,00,000/- as compensation in terms of the Board proceedings. Accordingly, the said amount shall be paid to the petitioner together with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of the incident till the date of filing of the writ petition. It is open to the petitioner to work out her further remedies in the manner known to law, if she is so advised.
