O R D E R
This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner for promotion from the post of Head Constable (Armourer), Armed Reserve, Thoothukudi to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (Armourer), Armed Reserve, 1/3
Kanyakumari, Kanyakumari District, as per the seniority, based on the date of joining as the Head Constable (Armourer). 2.The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Grade-II Police Constable, on 01.03.2002 and he was sent for Armourer Training from 23.01.2006 to 23.11.2006. On completion of the said training, the petitioner was joined as the Police Constable (Armourer) on 06.12.2006. Till date, the petitioner is working as the Head Constable (Armourer). Hence, the petitioner has made a representation, dated 22.02.2017 to the respondents seeking promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (Armourer). So far no order has been passed. Hence, the present writ petition is filed.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 22.02.2017 in accordance with law.
4.The Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first and the second respondents would submit that he has no serious objection for considering the petitioner's representation. 5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not disposed of already.
6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
