O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the second respondent to expedite the disciplinary proceedings initiated under DCS.1/3890/2004, dated 14.10.2009, under Rule 17(b) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (D & A) Rules.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the disciplinary proceeding was initiated against the petitioner in the year 2009 under Rule 17(b) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1955. However, even after lapse of eight years, the disciplinary proceeding was not completed. Hence, this Court may issue a direction to the second respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings within the time as fixed by this Court.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no serious objection to the said submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Considering the above said submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
