Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to issue death certificate of Manicka Thevar (S/o.Lakshman Thevar) by considering the communication in Na.Ka.No.151/2023/A9 dated 06.01.2023 issued by the 3rd respondent within the stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner, with a grievance that his application to issue a death certificate of his father, who died on 21.06.1990, has not been considered, has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the second respondent to issue his father's death certificate.

2. Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 submits that based on the petitioner's application, enquiry was conducted by the second respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Uthamapalayam and a 2/4

recommendation has also been made by the second respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Uthamapalayam, to the third respondent/the Tahsildar, Bodinayakanur, to register the death of the petitioner's father and issue a death certificate. He has also produced a copy of the proceedings of the second respondent dated 28.08.2023 to that effect.

3. Recording the said submission, this writ petition is closed. However, a direction is issued to the 3rd respondent/the Tahsildar, Bodinayakanur, to issue a death certificate of the petitioner's father, based on the recommendation of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Uthamapalayam, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
