ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to deal with the representations made by the petitioner on 15.09.2021 and 23.11.2021, wherein the petitioner has sought for permission to dig a Well in her agricultural lands in Survey Nos.426/7 and 426/12 at Sengal Village, Kirishnarayapuram Taluk, Karur District.

2. When the Writ Petition was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the competent authority to grant such permission is only the Block Development Officer of the concerned Panchayat. To substantiate the same, the learned Additional Government Pleader also relied upon G.O. (Ms)No.26, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (SGS-3), dated 18.02.2015.

3. In view of the above, it is left open to the petitioner to make a fresh representation before the concerned authority and seek for permission to dig a Well in her agricultural lands.
