ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner by considering the representation, dated 27.07.2024 in respect of the property, comprised in Survey No.512B/3B1, Kunnur Village, Watrap Taluk, Virudhunagar District

2. The petitioner had purchased the property measuring an extent of 33.46 cents in Survey No.512B/3B1 at Kunnur village, Watrap taluk, Virudhunagar district under a registered sale deed, dated 14.12.2023. He had approached the 2nd respondent to issue patta. However, the 2nd respondent had not taken any steps. Thereafter, on 25.05.2024, the petitioner had submitted an online application with requisite fee followed by a detailed representation, dated 27.07.2024. However, to date, no action for issuance of patta has been commenced by the respondents. Therefore, this writ petition.

3. The grant of patta has been sought for on the basis of the purchase made by the petitioner. Immediately after his purchase, the petitioner has approached the respondents for grant of patta. The respondents who have the statutory duty to issue patta within a time frame has not even responded to the application submitted by the petitioner.

4. Considering the request of the petitioner, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.07.2024 and pass orders within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and report compliance to this Court.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
