ORDER

Mr.R.Aravindan, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The petitioner is an importer of timber. He imported four containers from the port of Guinea, in which, two containers are released and other two containers are retained by the respondents without giving any reason or without passing any orders. Aggrieved over the same, he made a representation on 06.09.2019 for release of consignment of timber, which is under the custody of the respondents with bill of entry No.9850105 dated 30.01.2019. So far, the respondents have not passed any orders on the representation. W.P(MD)No.22422 of 2019 are expected to consider the same and take a decision either to accept it or reject it and communicate the decision to the petitioner.

4.In the instant case, the representation is pending from 06.09.2019. Therefore, a direction is given to the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 06.09.2019 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
