ORDER
This Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the time of admission with the consent of the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 to 4 and after dispensing with the notice on the fifth respondent, as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against the fifth respondent.
2. The petitioner claims to be a purchaser of the property from the fifth 2/7
respondent in Survey No.178/1A2, measuring an extent of 1674.37 sq.m, situated at Tiruvattar Village, Thiruvattar Taluk, Marthandam, Kanyakumari vide sale deed dated 01.04.2022. The land purchased by the petitioner is said to be a dilapidated building with EB connection. The petitioner has been requesting the respondents to disconnect the EB connection standing in the name of the fifth respondent.
3. It is informed by the petitioner that despite several representations, no steps have been taken by the respondents to disconnect the EB connection standing in the name of the fifth respondent.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that one Bai is residing in the said property and therefore, the EB connection cannot be disconnected, although the petitioner has purchased the property from the fifth respondent. The legal status of the said person, who is allegedly in occupation in the said property purchased by the petitioner from the fifth respondent, is not known.
5. Considering the same, the respondents 1 to 4 are directed to conduct spot 3/7
inspection in presence of the petitioner on 25.08.2025 and confirm as to whether any person is residing in the said property.
6. In case any person is residing, it is for the petitioner to vacate the said person and thereafter, takes steps to disconnect the EB connection standing in the name of the fifth respondent.
7. It is made clear that if the place is vacant and is not inhabited by any person, the respondents 1 to 4 will take steps to disconnect the EB connection standing in the name of the fifth respondent immediately after the spot inspection.
