This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to settle the gratuity amount payable to the petitioner at Rs.3,54,758/- with reasonable rate of interest as per the order dated 22.12.2017 passed by the controlling authority within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2.Learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents in the presence of Mrs.S.Jaya Sudha [Cooperative Sub-Registrar, O/o. The Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Thanjavur] would submit that out of the total sum of Rs.3,54,758/- due and payable to the petitioner towards his gratuity amount, a sum of Rs.1,88,000/- has already been paid though belatedly and still there remains a balance of Rs.1,76,895/- due and payable to the petitioner. She would submit that due to the financial crisis of the respondents, the said amount could not be paid on time and on instructions from the official who is present in the open Court today, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit 2/5

that the balance outstanding amount will be paid within a period of six [6] months in six [6] equated monthly installments, without committing any further default.

3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner requests this Court to record the said submission and direct the respondents to pay the balance amount to the petitioner accordingly. 4.After recording the undertaking given by the respondents through Mrs.S.Jaya Sudha [Cooperative Sub-Registrar, O/o. The Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Thanjavur], who is present in open Court today, that the balance amount payable to the petitioner will be paid within six [6] months in six [6] equated monthly installments, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
