ORDER
The petitioner is running a tea shop in the premises of Taluk
Office, Pattukkottai and he has filed this writ petition seeking a mandamus directing the respondent to renew the license granted to him to run the canteen within the premises of Taluk Office, Pattukottai.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that the licence was extended upto 2021. But, till date, the petitioner is in occupation and the respondent is also not intending to extend the licence any more. The shop will be allotted only through public auction.
3. Recording the submissions of the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is closed with a direction to the respondent to conduct a public auction within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and in the event, if the public auction is conducted, the petitioner is at liberty to participate in the public auction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
