O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents Police to grant permission to conduct Kabaadi Tournament by setting aside the impugned order passed by the first respondent on 14.08.2023.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the petitioner, namely, Pasumai Saral Amaippu, have organized a Kabaadi Tournament for children on 19.08.2023. However, the respondents Police have rejected the permission and thereby, the petitioner sought for suitable directions.

3. The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents Police submitted a letter received from the first respondent Police informing that there are two groups in the village and recently, three FIRs have been registered and there is a possibility of 2/5

picketing and thereby, the situation is not conducive to play Kabadi.

4. Considering the submissions made by both sides, the petitioner is hereby directed to file a fresh application giving the details including the place where Kabaddi Tournament is going to be conducted, accommodation provided to the players, food and snacks arrangement made by the Organizers and also in respect of medical facilities including providing of ambulance in case of emergency. On filing of such details, the respondents Police are directed to consider the same and provide necessary protection, in case if situation is conducive.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
