ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to lock the choices of colleges as per the option of the petitioner on 15.09.2024 under NonResidential Indian quota by considering the request of the petitioner sent through E-mail to the respondent on 17.09.2024.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner applied for Non-Residential Indian quota at 16 colleges at the time of uploading her application. However, now, it is found that the petitioner choice has been recorded only in respect of one college, namely, Kasturiba Medical College, Manipal University, Mangalore. According to him, the petitioner has applied for large number of colleges. However, application has not been received properly, whereas the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India (DSGI) produced material to show that the petitioner have chosen the same private college. Earlier, on 16.09.2024, she has changed her version, wherein she has chosen one college for NRI sheet.

3. At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice, if the petitioner is permitted to participate in the next round of 2/4

counseling. In this regard, instruction has also been received from MCC and the same has been produced before this Court by the learned DSGI, which reads as follows:

"It is also mentioned that Final Result of NEET UG Round-2 has been declared on the website of the answering on 20.09.2024 and as per choices and merit of the petitioner she has not been allotted any colleges. However, the candidate can still participate in the counselling process for the upcoming round and change her choices including NRI quota."

4. In such view of the matter, the petitioner is at liberty to participate in the next counselling for NRI quota.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 24.09.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Rmk To The Medical Counseling Committee(MCC), DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
