ORDER

The petitioner with an allegation that the respondent police is harassing him under the guise of an enquiry has approached this Court. 2.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) appearing for the official respondents submits that the third respondent has lodged a complaint before Superintendent of Police, Thanjavur District and the same has been forwarded for enquiry. The nature of the complaint is that the petitioner herein created forged death certificate and legal heir certificate. Further, he submits that the enquiry is pending and they have not taken any decision so far.

3.In view of the above submission, this Court directs the respondent Police to complete the preliminary enquiry, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and they are 2/4

not supposed to harass the petitioner. In the event, if the complaint of the third respondent constitutes any cognizable offence, it is open to the respondent Police to register a case as against the petitioner and the petitioner has to workout his remedy in the manner known to law.
