O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to direct the respondent No.3 to disburse the payments for the Fixed Deposit Receipts issued by the 3rd respondent in the name of the petitioner's Deceased Father bearing Nos.34445, 34527, 34553, 34559, 34560, 34372, 34591 and 34592 totaling to an amount of Rs.26,10,000/- with applicable interest till the date of payment within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2. It is the case of the Writ Petitioner that his father has made fixed deposits to the tune of Rs.26,10,000/- bearing Nos.34445, 34527, 34553, 34559, 34560, 34372, 34591 and 34592. The petitioner's father died on 19.02.2024. It is the further contention of the petitioner that in all the fixed deposits, the petitioner 2/4

has been made as a nominee and after the death of his father, when the petitioner sought for disbursement of the amount, the respondent insisted the petitioner to renew the fixed deposits. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions from Mr.P.Ananthan, Secretary of the third respondent, who is present before this Court, submitted that they will disburse the amount within a period of three months.

4. Recording the said submission, this Court directs the third respondent to disburse the payments for the Fixed Deposit made by petitioner's father bearing Nos.34445, 34527, 34553, 34559, 34560, 34372, 34591 and 34592, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. There shall be no order as to costs. 18.10.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No vsm 3/4
