PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 06.04.2017 in the light of the report given by the Village Administrative Officer, Varichiyoor Village, Madurai District as expeditiously as possible within the time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner has sought for a free patta and has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 06.04.2017 in the light of the report given by the Village Administrative Officer, Varichiyoor Village, Madurai District.

2.Today(14.06.2023), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner is having sufficient lands and he is not eligible for free patta.
