ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the the District Collector, Madurai, to consider and pass orders on his representation dated 26.11.2015. By the representation dated 26.11.2015, the petitioner has made a request for issuing a joint patta for lands in S.Nos.477/1B, 477/1A and 477/4 situated in Thiruvathavur Village.
2. The petitioner claims that he along with his wife has purchased these lands by a registered document in Doc.No.543, dated 20.07.1994. However, in the revenue records, it has wrongly been classified as Panchami lands. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 26.11.2015 to the District Collector, Madurai, to rectify this mistake by considering his representation dated 26.11.2015. 2/6

When this writ petition came up for hearing on 03.10.2023, a stand has been taken by the first respondent that for re-classification of panchami lands, a State Level Committee has been constituted and on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Land Administration, a Government Order has been passed in G.O.Ms.No.12, dated 04.03.2022. For conversion of land either as Panchami land or as nonpanchami land, a decision can be taken only by the Committee headed by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Adidravidar Welfare Department.
4. Considering the said submission, this Court, by order dated 21.02.2023, has suo motu impleaded the Chairman of State Level Committee of Panchami Land as 2nd respondent in this writ petition.
5. Now, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has filed a memo stating that the petitioner has orally instructed him not to prosecute the case.

Considering that this writ petition is pending from the year 2016 and the petitioner has also instructed orally his counsel not to prosecute the case, without making any alternative arrangements, this writ petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy before the State Level Committee of Panchami Lands, constituted as per G.O.Ms.No.12, dated 04.03.2022.
