Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 4 to issue house tax receipts to the petitioner's houses in Door No.177-A and Door No.178 in Thirumalaipatti Village, Iluppur Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by mentioning his village name "Thirumalaipatti" also within the time stipulated by this Court. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 4 to issue house tax receipts to the petitioner's houses in Door No.177-A and Door No.178, Thirumalaipatti Village, Iluppur Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by mentioning the Village name as "Thirumalaipatti", within a time stipulated by this Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that as per the revenue records, the petitioner's houses are situated in Thirumalaipatti Village and in Aadhaar Card, Ration Card and Native Certificate of the petitioner, the said Thirumalaipatti Village has been mentioned and it comes under Kundrandarkovil 2/5
Union. Therefore, the petitioner has approached the second respondent, namely, the Block Development Officer, Kundrandarkovil Union, Pudukottai District, to issue house tax receipts to the petitioner's houses by mentioning Village name as Thirumalaipatti. However, the second respondent refused to issue the house tax receipts. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

Since the petitioner claimed that his houses are situated in Thirumalaipatti Village, this Court directed the third respondent, namely, the Tahsildar, Illuppur Taluk, Pudukottai District, to file a report before this Court. The third respondent has also filed the report dated 17.10.2023 stating that the land in Survey No.45/10, where the petitioner has constructed his houses, is within Lekkanapatti Village, as per the revenue records and that the petitioner and 30 other families are residing in the said place and that only three families are insisting that the Village name has to be mentioned as Thirumalaipatti, however, others are insisting that the Village name should not be changed. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief as sought for by the petitioner in the present Writ Petition.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. Index :
