Heard both sides.
2. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the petition-mentioned land reflected in the joint name of Chellappa Pillai and Somasundaram Chettiyar. The writ petitioner claims that 2/4
3 W.P.(MD)NO.24601 OF 2022 he is the grandson of Somasundaram Chettiyar. The specific allegation is that the name of his grandfather was wrongfully deleted in the revenue records. He seeks restoration of the same.
3. I am of the view that this issue will have to be agitated only before the jurisdictional civil Court. The revenue authority may find difficult to adjudicate the matter. If the revenue records stood in the name of the writ petitioner and it was wrongfully deleted, relief will be granted. But that is not the case here. In the case on hand, the deletion appears to have taken place quite a few decades back. It is for this reason, I relegate the petitioner to go before the jurisdictional civil Court. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. 04.11.2025 NCS : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No PMU G.R.SWAMINATHAN,J.
