ORDER

This writ petition is filed challenging the punishment order, dated 07.06.2014.

2. Heard Mr.G.Karthik, for M/s.LajapathiRoy and Associates, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Thambidurai, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents.

3. The punishment imposed on the petitioner is stoppage of increment for 3 months without cumulative effect. Totally, four charges were imputed against the petitioner and he has allegedly involved in manipulation of Patta register.

4. However, the contention of the petitioner is he has just signed in the Patta register and he has not issued any Patta. After considering the petitioner's explanation the respondents have been imposed only stoppage of increment without cumulative effect for three months.

5. In view of the foregoing reasons, this Court is of the considered opinion that the punishment is minor and the same will not affect the monetary benefits and terminal benefits.

6. However, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that because of this punishment the petitioner is not able to get promotion in the year 2012 itself. But it is seen that subsequently, the petitioner was granted promotion in the year 2016 and he has attained superannuation and retired from service on 30.04.2020.

7. Considering the fact that the punishment imposed by the respondents is not affecting the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned punishment order passed by the respondents. Accordingly, this 3/6

writ petition stands dismissed. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
