O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- to the petitioner as marriage advance for his daughter, in accordance with Clause 21 of 15th wage settlement dated 29.05.2025, by considering his representation dated 05.06.2025.

2. Heard Mr.J.Lawrance, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Raja, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The petitioner was appointed as a Driver in the respondent Corporation on 10.05.1996. As per the 15th Wage Settlement, the marriage advance for employees' son or daughter was increased from Rs.50,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/-. The petitioner's daughter's marriage was solemnized on 27.06.2025. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite submitting a representation dated 05.06.2025 to the respondents, requesting disbursement of the marriage advance of Rs.1,00,000/- no action was taken on his representation. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition before this Court.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. Considering the above facts and circumstances, without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.06.2025 and 3/6

pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits.
