ORDER

The petitioner, with a grievance that a misappropriation has been made by the Officers of the Kadayal Town Panchayat, has lodged a complaint before the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption and has approached this Court, seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to initiate enquiry upon on his complaint dated 13.06.2024 and file a final report within a stipulated time.

2. Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the first respondent submits that the Department has conducted a preliminary enquiry and found that a fraud has been played by the Contractors and by the President. They have also submitted an application seeking sanction as required under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

3. Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the second and third respondents submits that necessary permission has already been granted to the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Department to register a case as against the delinquents.

4. Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) further submits that they have also prepared a draft FIR and in view of the permission accorded by the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration as required under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, they are proceeding to register a case and conduct an investigation.
