The petitioner claiming to be an agriculturist with a grievance that his electricity service connection has been disconnected by the Board and he submitted a representation to the respondent Board for restoration of the electricity service connection in the land in S.No.486 in Arasur Part II Village in Tisayanvilai Taluk and has also filed this writ petition in the year 2017. 2.It appears that the respondent has not filed any counter affidavit so far.

3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Electricity Board submits that the land in which agricultural service connection was provided is now converted as a housing plot and as per the standing instruction of the Board, the electricity service connection for the purpose of agriculture to the petitioner was disconnected.

4.However, the learned counsel for the petitioner disputed the same and submits that even now the petitioner is doing agriculture in the subject land.

5.Considering the rival submissions made, this Court without expressing anything on the merits of the claim of the petitioner is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner after conducting field inspection in the petitioner's land whether this petitioner is doing agriculture and if so, the petitioner's request for restoration of electricity service connection may be considered positively.

6.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 14.06.2023 NCC : Yes / No.
