PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2017 submitted to take necessary action against the shop owners who are selling the low quality gold and silver ornaments by directing them to conduct discrete enquiry in the name of inspection in the shops in Tamilnadu particularly in Madurai, Theni and Dindigul District to take samples of the gold and silver ornaments and further directing them to sell the gold and silver ornaments by containing the seal and symbol of Hallmark as well as symbol of shop besides directing them to issue receipt for the value of the said articles sold to the public within a time frame fixed by this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.] The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2017, whereby and whereunder, she sought redressal of certain grievances, at the earliest.

2. On perusal of papers, we do not propose to issue any positive direction at this juncture due to efflux of time. Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation before the concerned Authority, which shall be considered in accordance with law, if the grievance still exists.
