PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation and file final report / charge sheet before the appropriate court at the earliest in Crime No. 265 of 2019 pending on the file of the respondent police. For Petitioner : Mr.M.Saravanan For R1 : Mr.SS.Madhavan, Government Advocate (Criminal Side) O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation in Crime No.265 of 2019 on the file of the respondent Police as expeditiously as possible and file the final report.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, on a complaint given by the petitioner / defacto complainant, the respondent Police have registered FIR in Crime No.265 of 2019, for the offence under Sections 294(b), 379, 420 and 506 (2) of I.P.C. r/w Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002, on 16.06.2019 and submitted that, in spite of registration of FIR, no substantial progress in the investigation. Therefore, sought for suitable directions.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) after getting instructions from the respondent Police reported that the respondent Police will complete the investigation and file the charge sheet before the concerned Court within a period of four weeks.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side and on perusal of the records, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to complete the investigation in Crime No.265 of 2019 and file the final report before the concerned Court within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
